Moments
When I look back at old photographs I am drawn to the ones that show moments that, at the time, might not necessarily feel important. When you collect all of these moments together though, they make up your life. Your life is filled with moments, some good, some sad. Those moments make you who you are and how you see.
On a Saturday morning I like to go out into my back garden and look at the hills. I like to stretch my arms and take a minute to appreciate the fresh air and the daylight. That moment is important because it brings me peace and it helps me to appreciate time. A lot of moments go by un-noticed, as they seems insignificant, but I want to record those seemingly insignificant moments.
When my children are in their beds and I have my feet up on the coffee table. I know they are safe in bed, I feel at peace. I want to remember how that felt by recording it from my point of view. It's not glamorous, but it is a moment in my life.
When I look at a photograph that shows simple, unplanned moments like those it brings me comfort.
