While in Cape Verde for 5 nights during February 2026, the first couple of days I felt like I was on a tropical island.  The beach was stunning and I sat in the water for a while.  I really enjoyed floating around (close to shore) and then letting the little waves hit me in the face.  I felt awake.  On the last couple of days, the ocean became amazingly animated.  Huge waves relentlessly crashed against anything that stood in its way; and I was mesmerised.  I (amongst others) spent time on the beach watching this beautifully natural act of nature and I also watched it from the hotel in between visits to the sand.  I felt so lucky to have experienced 2 stunning variations of the water in such a short space of time.
