Down the Devon

I think there are few spaces on this Earth that I would personally consider as beautiful as ones that are largely left alone (though still visited) by humans. I'm sure the River Devon has had its fair share of human meddling (for example, to discourage local flooding) however the weeds grow wild and change with the seasons. I also enjoy seeing the desire paths changing over time. Though that is very much human interference, it's still just a natural process that is an inevitable exchange between Earth and any creature that walks it. I love going down the Devon with the dog so he can jump in the water. He's not a confident swimmer but, like his mum (me, of course!) loves to get his feet wet. Are there any pools of water you'd recommend?
