Start of the summer holidays

This was less than a week into my summer holidays from work. The house was quiet and I went for a walk up the foothills with my pup. This is one of my favourite places. Unfortunately it let me down this time (well, I assume it's humans that have done that to be fair) and Ozzy ended up with a sliced up paw after going in the water. We had to go to the vet where he got sedated, 4 staples, a cone round his head and instructions to rest - no walks until he has healed. So it was a slow start to summer, but at least we had the sun!

The gate in these photographs has changed a few times over the years - this is my least favourite. It's hard to tell in this photo, but it's far too wide for the actual opening, which makes it really hard to shove open, especially with camera in hand.
